Had a coax crimper snap on me mid-job yesterday
I was finishing up a run in an attic in Phoenix, crimping the final connector when the handle just gave way. The tool was a Klein VDV226-110, maybe 3 years old. Had to climb down, drive to the supply house for a new one, and lost about an hour and a half. What's your go-to crimper that can handle the heat up there?

Hate when a tool fails at the worst time. My old boss swore by the Paladin PA1410 for attic heat, said the composite handles held up better than metal. I switched a few years back and haven't had one bind up or crack yet, even on long days.

Your old boss knew what he was talking about. Metal handles can get hot enough to burn you in an attic, and cold enough to stick to your skin in winter. The composite stuff just doesn't transfer heat the same way. Once you find a tool that doesn't fight you all day, you stick with it.

Seems like a lot of fuss over crimpers. Just grab whatever's cheap and available.
