That swap meet lens clamp saved my whole bench setup
Picked up an old brass lens clamp at the Portland swap meet for $12. I never used those things, thought they were for looks. Last Tuesday I had a stuck helicoid on a Pentax and needed both hands free. Clamped the barrel sideways and it held rock solid, no slipping. Took me three tries to find the right angle but once I did, the job took 20 minutes instead of an hour. Now it sits on my bench full time. Anyone else use vintage clamps over new ones for tricky barrel work?
