Warning: That vintage lens mount repair in Chicago went sideways fast

Had a Contax G2 come in with a bent bayonet. Tried a gentle realign, heard a tiny crack. The whole flange gave way. Anyone know a solid source for those specific titanium parts now?

Man, that's rough. I've always been told those titanium mounts are a nightmare to bend back. The metal gets stressed and just fails. A local guy here tried the same fix on a G1 and it shattered into three pieces. Finding those exact parts is a deep dive into old forums and camera graveyards now.

Yeah, @lee_grant97, you're spot on. I learned that the hard way with an old F-1 mount. Tried to gently bend a tiny dent, and it just cracked straight through. It's not like aluminum where you have a chance. Once that titanium is stressed, it's basically a ticking time bomb. Hunting for a clean donor body is the only real fix, and you're right, that's a whole project in itself these days.
