Finally fixed my tent zipper after 6 years of fighting it
Read a random forum comment about rubbing a candle along the track, tried it on my old REI Half Dome that always stuck at the bottom corner, and now it glides like the day I bought it, so how many of you actually carry wax or lube on the trail for this?

Carried a little stick of paraffin in my repair kit for years after my dad showed me that trick on a old canvas tent when I was a kid. That Half Dome zipper is a known pain too, mine always jammed right where the rain fly straps pull the track tight. I keep a tiny birthday candle stub in the lid pocket now and hit the zipper maybe once a season, takes ten seconds and saves you from ripping the pull tab off in a rage at camp. Also learned the hard way not to use lip balm unless you want grit stuck in there forever, wax only. Feels dumb how long we all fight a zipper before trying the cheapest fix on earth.
