That Coleman lantern I roasted for years is actually fine
I spent 3 summers trashing the propane lantern my dad gave me in 2019, swore by my battery LED for everything, then a cold night in Tahoe killed my batteries at 2am and the old Coleman fired right up. Are we too quick to dump on simple gear just because it isn't new tech?
Are we too quick to dump on simple gear" yeah, probably. Simple stuff that works beats fancy stuff that dies on you at 2am. Your mileage may vary but I'm keeping my old junk around.
