Remember when coffee shop outlets were a luxury, not a business expense?

Yeah, I had to make a rule that my laptop battery is my timer. Once it hits 10%, I'm done, no buying a third coffee just to keep the table. My willpower is basically zero when I'm in the smell of fresh pastries. I tried the whole "just get a water" thing but then I feel like a criminal taking up space for three hours. Now I only go to the library if I actually need to focus, it's free and nobody gives you the side-eye.

Hot take: I was reviewing earbuds all wrong for a year

Oh man, that's not even a hot take, that's just how you're supposed to do it! Testing in a quiet room only tells you half the story. I make a point to use new buds on my commute, at the gym, and while doing chores with the sink running. If they can't handle real noise and wind, they're just fancy quiet-room toys. The best review is how they work when your life is loud.

Remember when we used to dig every post hole by hand?

Honestly, my bids haven't changed at all. A faster setup just saves me time on site, it doesn't change the actual work or materials needed. I still price based on the job's full scope, not just how quickly I can start. If anything, it helps me be more accurate because I'm not rushing the estimate. The value I provide is in the finished product, not the setup speed.

Crossed 100 hours of deep dive research into a single theory about the moon landing.

Man, I once spent a whole weekend down a rabbit hole trying to prove to my cousin that a specific "ghost" photo was just a lens flare. I must have read every camera manual from 2005. Felt like a real detective, until I realized I'd just proven myself right about something I already knew. That's a lot of hours to feel kinda dumb at the end.
