I finally figured out why my cardboard cat castle kept collapsing after I added a second floor last Tuesday
I was sitting on my living room floor in Denver watching the whole thing sag and realized I had been cutting the corrugation the wrong way for support beams, so I flipped the pieces 90 degrees and now my cat can actually jump on it without it caving in - has anyone else had trouble with cardboard bending the wrong direction?

OMG yes, the whole "cutting the corrugation the wrong way" thing is SO real. I built my cat a little two-story condo a few months ago with some old Amazon boxes and it kept bowing in the middle, I was so confused. I was literally sitting there with a box cutter staring at the cardboard like it was a geometry problem. Flipping the pieces 90 degrees is a game changer, I did the same thing and now that thing is sturdy as heck. My cat just launched himself onto the top level and it didn't even creak, it was the best feeling ever.

Ngl that corrugation thing got me too when I tried making a little fort for my hamster. Cut all my pieces horizontally and the whole thing just folded like a taco. Flipped em vertical and it turned into a fortress pretty quick.
