My brother in law laughed at me for using plain white glue on my cardboard castle, he was wrong
Two years ago I started building a big castle for my kids out of moving boxes, and my brother in law who does woodworking said wood glue was the only thing that would hold. I went with plain white school glue instead just to save money, and that castle is still standing in our garage in Toledo after two winters. The flaps take about 20 minutes to really grab, so you have to hold them or tape them, but the joint stays flexible and it does not snap when the kids bump into it. Wood glue dries hard and cracks off the cardboard every time I tried it on scraps. Has anyone else had better luck with white glue on big builds, or am I crazy for skipping hot glue too?
