My kid's box fort held up way better with tape on the inside of the flaps, not the outside
Last month my 6 year old and I built a rocket ship out of a fridge box for his cousin's party in Tucson, and the first version fell apart in about 20 minutes because I taped the flaps from the outside. This weekend we rebuilt it with the tape on the inside of every seam and it survived a whole afternoon of three kids climbing through it. Does anyone else tape the inside first, or do you have a better trick for keeping the walls from caving in?
The inside of the flaps thing is so real, my sister did the outside tape thing for a castle and it flopped in like 10 min. We ended up stuffing crumpled newspaper in the corners for support and that helped a ton. Also duct tape beats packing tape every time if you havent tried that yet.
