my resume got a callback after 8 months of silence, here's what changed
After 8 months of nothing but rejection emails from job sites, I finally got a real interview this week. I'm not gonna lie, I think it was because I stopped using the same resume template everyone online suggests and wrote mine like a plain story of my work wins. I also cut it down from two pages to one, which felt scary but honest. The hiring manager even mentioned she liked the opening line about my 5 years in retail logistics. Has anyone else found that shorter resumes work better for mid-level roles, or was I just lucky?
