Man, the fogging thing is real and it gets worse if you seal the pouch while it's warm out. What worked for me was skipping the pouch and putting the phone in my jersey pocket in a ziplock with the air squeezed out, then just pulling over under a bridge or at a light to check it. The fog comes from trapped moist air, so a bag you can press flat beats a hard pouch every time. Takes ten extra seconds at a stop but you keep your screen and your sixty bucks.

Honestly I just haul the extra weight and treat every marked water source as a rumor until I see it with my own eyes.
