A painter told me to stop sanding between coats

Three drywall patches I skipped sanding on last year all cracked within months.

Just watched a time-lapse of the Andromeda Galaxy colliding with the Milky Way and it blew my mind

Stars are actually pretty dense in galactic cores, odds of a collision there are real.

Noticed something weird at the Habitat ReStore yesterday

...I mean sure it's a little odd but is it really that big of a deal? It's a thrift store not a retail chain with strict pricing rules. They get stuff donated from random people and slap a tag on it based on who happens to be working that day. I've seen way bigger gaps than $40 on stuff like furniture. You're paying $45 for a vanity that probably retailed for a few hundred, so either way you're getting a deal. People get bent out of shape over the smallest things at these places when the whole point is it's cheap and unpredictable.

Hot take: That guy who told me "skip Vietnam and head straight to Chiang Mai" gave me bad advice that cost me two months of my trip

Hoi An for me too, five dollars for a tailor-made jacket beats any coworking space.

PSA: I was torquing those little Beechcraft fuel line fittings all wrong for months

Beecraft fuel fittings are tiny and easy to strip if you're going by a chart that's off anyway. I've seen guys torquing those things by feel for years with no issues, and some of those planes have 10,000 hours on them without a leak. You're better off just getting a tiny torque wrench that maxes out at like 50 inch pounds and using it straight on the fitting. That chart in your toolbox won't help you when you're sweating in a tight wheel well and the crowsfoot is at a bad angle.
