Framing crew showed up 3 guys short on a 40 square roof in Toledo and I almost walked off
Spent 11 hours yesterday cutting rafters alone because the lead guy swore his guys were 'on the way' since 6am. How do you all handle subs who pull that garbage without losing the whole job?

Roofing subs pull that stuff because they know guys like us are scared to walk. What saved me last time was calling the GC before I even started cutting, not after. Told him straight up the crew was short and I needed his ok to either wait or get paid for the delay. Put the ball in his court so it wasn't my problem anymore, and he ended up back charging the sub for the lost day. Next time get it in a text at 6am so you got proof when they try to blame you.
