Just realized my mitre saw cuts changed after I swapped blades

I was fighting tearout on some oak baseboards for a 5 bedroom job outside Portland, then I put in a 60 tooth blade and the difference was night and day. Anyone else notice how much shop conditions affect cut quality, or do you just blame the wood like I did for two weeks?
