That moment I realized my miter saw was off by 2 degrees for 6 months

Finally figured out why all my picture frames had gaps at the corners. A buddy from the union hall stopped by my garage last month and threw a square on my saw. Turns out I never calibrated it after I moved shops in Denver. Anyone else go that long without checking their saw's accuracy?

Brought my saw with me when I moved from Phoenix to Fort Collins and never even thought to check the angle. Spent like a year making crooked baseboards and just assumed my walls were way worse than they actually were.

I had a Stanley miter saw for 5 years that was 1.5 degrees off the whole time and I just thought I was bad at cutting crown molding. @hugo_cooper nailed it with the moving thing, I also moved shops around the same time and never recalibrated. The worst part was I'd watch those YouTube guys make perfect cuts and get so frustrated. Finally bought a digital angle finder off Amazon for like 30 bucks and realized my saw was the problem, not my shaky hands. Now I check the calibration every time I set up for a big job.
