That one Tuesday where my tape measure saved a $3000 job
Got a call to reframe a load-bearing wall in an old house near Portland, and my 25-foot Fat Max caught a 3/8 inch discrepancy the builder's prints missed. Has anyone else had a cheap tool unexpectedly bail them out on a big day?

Did I used to think fancy tools mattered more than basic ones? Yeah, but now I get it.

Simple tools just work. Fancy stuff just gets in the way.
