Vent: I quit using my coping saw on inside corners and my trim work got sloppier, not better
For 6 months I was cutting miters on every inside corner like some kind of hero, then my buddy Dale at the shop in Council Bluffs told me to just cope them with the jigsaw. Problem is my jigsaw blade wanders about 1/16 inch on the back cut, so my cope lines are wavy and I'm touching them up with a file way more than I ever did with the saw. Did I just need a better blade or is the jigsaw the wrong tool for this and I should go back to the coping saw?
Man, I gotta disagree on blaming the jigsaw, a cheap blade with too many teeth per inch is what makes it wander. Grab a scroll blade or a reverse-tooth jigsaw blade and slow your feed down, that cope line will come out clean.
