Debate: Do you stretch carpet with a knee kicker or power stretcher for residential rooms?
Which way do you go on standard bedrooms under 12 feet?

You ever try using a knee kicker on a room that size and end up with ripples by the time you hit the other wall? I'd rather spend the extra few minutes dragging out the power stretcher than re-doing the whole damn job.

I read something about this a while back where a guy tested both methods in a room about that size and the knee kicker caused like 3 visible seams by the time he got halfway across. He swore the power stretcher was worth the setup time. I mean, idk, maybe it's just me but I've seen too many jobs where someone tried to save time and ended up pulling the carpet back up two weeks later. The ripples always show up right where people walk the most, like near doorways or the kitchen.

Man, I gotta admit I used to be ALL about the knee kicker. I always figured the power stretcher was overkill for anything under a 12x12 room. But what @luna519 said about those seams ripping open is hitting home for me now. I literally saw this happen at my buddy's place last month - he tried to save time and the carpet started buckling in the hallway by the kitchen within two weeks. That really changed my mind, I'm not gonna lie.
