Dropped $85 on a carpet knee kicker upgrade and my old one was fine

Bought a fancy padded kicker thinking it would save my knees on a 1,200 sq ft stretch job in Tulsa, but it felt the same as the $40 one I had. Anyone else find the cheaper tools hold up just as well, or did I just pick a bad one?
