Just finished a carpet job where the homeowner had already painted the subfloor with glow-in-the-dark paint. Yeah.

Totally agree about the callbacks. Saw a job last year where they used that glitter sealant. Same deal. Carpet started rippling in six months. Had to pull it all up, scrape the floor, start over. Homeowner was mad but we warned them. That stuff never bonds right.

Glow-in-the-dark paint on a subfloor isn't a good idea. The paint can stop the carpet pad from sticking right. It might also trap moisture and cause mold. They should have left the subfloor alone or used a proper primer. Now you might get callbacks when the carpet starts to buckle. Some people just don't think about how things work under the floor.
