I kept using impact font on every cat meme until my cousin asked why the punchline was in a birth announcement font
I thought bold white text with a black outline was just what memes looked like, then she showed me the same cat in a lighter font where the joke actually landed better. Now I can't decide if the classic heavy font is part of the charm or if I've been covering up weak captions with loud letters. Which side are you on, does font even matter or am I overthinking a picture of a cat in a box?

Font matters less than people act like it does. The cat's still in a box either way, nobody's laughing harder because the letters got thinner.
