My cat meme flopped hard at the family dinner and I can't figure out why

I made a meme of my cat Gus wearing a tiny mail bag last Saturday at my sister's place in Toledo, and my whole family just stared at it with zero laughs. I think the joke landed flat because I used a caption that only made sense to me after a 9 hour route. What's the fix here, better caption or just a funnier cat face?
