Template memes are way overrated for cat humor

I used to spend HOURS making perfect cat memes with the same tired template formats. Grumpy Cat, woman yelling at cat, all that stuff. About 3 months ago I just started snapping random pics of my own cat Bella looking confused and adding a single line of text. No fancy editing or templates at all. Now I get way more laughs from friends with these simple raw photos, and I can make one in under 2 minutes instead of 30. Has anyone else ditched the templates for original cat pics?

Man I feel this SO much. I've got like a THOUSAND pics of my cat Mortimer just staring at walls or sleeping in weird positions. They get way more likes than anything I ever made with a template. Guess I'm the one who's a template meme now.

Is it really that deep though @spencer664? Cats sleeping weird is basically the internet's favorite thing since sliced bread. Sounds like your cat's just paying the rent, lol.
