Hit 10,000 miles on my Bolt with zero issues this morning
I pulled into the charger at my usual spot in downtown Austin this morning and noticed my odometer rolled past 10,000 miles. Got my Bolt back in March 2022 and I remember being nervous about battery life and range anxiety those first few weeks. But honestly it has been smooth sailing the whole time. I only charge at home on a Level 2 setup my brother helped me install in the garage. My electric bill went up about $30 a month compared to my old Civic which was costing me $150 in gas. The only thing I did was rotate the tires at 7,500 miles and top off the washer fluid once. Anyone else hit a big milestone with their EV and feel like it was way less drama than you expected?

Gotta push back on this a little. 10k miles with zero issues is basically a test drive for most cars these days, not really a big milestone worth celebrating. My buddy’s F-150 rolled past 200k with nothing but oil changes and a belt swap, so I’m not sure a new EV making it a year without breaking down is the flex people think it is. Battery degradation usually doesn’t show up until closer to 50k or 100k anyway, so the real drama is probably still ahead of you. Not trying to rain on your parade but let’s see how that smooth sailing looks when you’re replacing a battery pack out of warranty in five years.

Man, you're making this way deeper than it needs to be. 10k miles without a problem is just a normal car doing its job, no need to treat it like a miracle or a disaster. It's just a car, not a whole statement about the future.
