Spent $260 on a Level 2 home charger install kit and I'm split on if it was worth it
Honestly, I dropped about $260 last spring on a 40 amp Level 2 setup for my garage in Naperville, and some days I think it paid for itself and other days I think I got played. The upside is I wake up to a topped off battery every morning and barely touch public stations anymore, which easily saves me an hour a week. The downside is my breaker panel needed a $90 subpanel tweak on top of the kit, and my commute is only 18 miles so the slow 120V outlet probably would've been fine. So is a home Level 2 setup a smart buy or just an expensive comfort thing for short commuters? Curious how far you all drive before you felt like it made sense.
