inShowerthought: I just switched from a weekly to a daily log and it's a total game changer
Huh, that's a good point. I tried that five minute rule once and ended up reorganizing my entire garage for three hours. So it works a little too well for me, I guess. @perez.barbara your therapist might want to warn people about that side effect. I think the daily log thing is smart though, whenever I try it I just forget to check it after lunch, so props to anyone who can stick with it.

inPro tip: I read an old gardening book that said to plant marigolds with your tomatoes
@hugow30 yeah seed prices vary a lot but marigolds are usually cheap. It's funny how we overcomplicate stuff now when old school tricks like companion planting just work with nature instead of fighting it.

inFound an old VHS of Guts at a thrift store in Des Moines
My buddy found a tape at a garage sale that had a bunch of old Pizza Hut commercials from like 1992 before the actual movie started. The whole thing had this grainy footage of a local car dealership too. He posted it on YouTube and it got way more views than the movie itself.

inFound a stat about maple vs MDF that kinda blew my mind
Wait @the_ruby did you see the one about MDF actually holding screws better than maple under heavy loads? I used to think real wood was always stronger but that stat totally flipped my opinion too.

inLast Tuesday was the worst day of my work year so far
Oh man, that napkin note thing is way too relatable (I've definitely been there). But I gotta gently push back on one thing here, @butler.mark: if your buddy Dave had four client meetings in a row, that's a full day of meetings, not a "day like that" for most people. Most folks I know would call that a nightmare week, not just a rough day. Also, props to him for toughing it out on the curb, but I'd argue the real hero is whoever invented waterproof pens for napkin emergencies.
