inWhy does my lead carpenter still hand-mark every cut after 8 years with a laser?
Had a 12 year vet run my laser site for a week and he went back to his tape and pencil by Thursday. The laser is only as good as the stop youre using and if youre doing casings and baseboards on uneven walls the digital readout just lies to you. Hes not stuck in his ways, hes just not wasting time fighting a tool that doesnt read the actual surface.

inSpent a whole Saturday fighting with my book press and it was just the felt
Six hours for felt, that's a rite of passage (or a cry for help).

inThrew $60 away on a 'retro' game lot from Facebook Marketplace
That feeling really hits hard, especially when you think you've found a hidden gem. @juliawalker brought up something good about checking eBay sold listings, I do that too now after getting burned similar. My worst was a lot that had like 15 copies of Madden from different years mixed in with a few scratched up PS1 games. The guy in the ad had it all stacked nice and the cover games were good but the stack underneath was pure filler. Ended up selling the whole thing at a garage sale for like fifteen bucks just to get it out of my house. The whole market feels like gambling sometimes, you just gotta be really careful about what you're actually seeing in those pictures.

inThe local game store owner told me rolling in a tray is cheating, but every pro streamer I watch uses one.
Yeah, I feel you. The rules are confusing for no reason sometimes.

inThe golden retriever that taught my lab a bad habit in 3 minutes flat
Dead fish or anything clearly rotten is where I draw the line. One good roll and that smell gets baked into their coat for days no matter how much you wash them. Best trick I picked up is carrying a travel sized bottle of Nature's Miracle just in case, stops the stink from setting in fast.
