The EV tech at my dealer in Boise told me to stop charging to 100 percent every night and it cut my power bill by $23
I used to plug in my Bolt every single night and let it fill all the way up, figured more range was always better. The tech mentioned at my 20k mile service that for my short commute I was basically cooking the battery for no reason and to try staying between 20 and 80 percent for daily driving. I switched to charging every other night and only topping off before road trips, and last month my electric bill went down about $23. Six months in and my range estimator still reads the same as when I bought it. Has anyone else noticed their range hold up better after making this switch, or am I just imagining things?

That "stop charging to 100 percent every night" tip is legit, I do the same thing with my Leaf and my range has barely budged in three years. The key is to set your charge limit in the car menu so it just stops at 80 on its own, otherwise you'll forget and wake up to a full pack again. Also try to plug in when the battery is already warm from driving, it charges better and you're not pulling power to heat it up first.
