Had to choose between two taco trucks and picked wrong
Last Friday I was starving and had to pick between two taco trucks parked right next to each other downtown. One had a huge line and the other was empty, so I thought I'd be smart and skip the wait. Paid $12 for three tacos that were cold and the meat was dry. I watched the busy truck's customers walk away smiling with loaded plates. Should I just always go where the line is?

Long lines can mean good food, but they can also just mean slow workers. Sometimes people line up out of habit or because the truck has a cool name. Honestly, you might've just hit a bad day at the empty truck. Try both once on a weekend and see which one actually holds up.

I heard someone say once that the line at a taco truck is basically a customer review board. "Picked wrong" is exactly what happened to you. The busy truck's line is a sign people know their food is worth waiting for. The empty truck probably had dry meat before you even showed up. I'd never skip a line again if I were you. Just wait the extra 10 minutes.
