My buddy swore the cheap grocery sushi was fine after 2 days in the fridge... I spent the whole night regretting that $5 deal.

He kept saying 'it's basically just rice and fish, what could go wrong' but after 6 hours of stomach cramps I learned that $5 wasn't worth the gamble on day-old California rolls from a bodega downtown, has anyone else been burned by trusting that kind of clearance sushi advice?

...and that's exactly what happened to my buddy Tom last month. He grabbed a tray of those 99 cent spicy tuna rolls from the gas station cooler, said "it's fine, it's been in there all day." Dude spent the next morning curled up on my couch moaning about how he could taste the wasabi coming back up. I told him to just throw it away but he insisted on finishing it cause he paid good money for it. Meanwhile I'm sitting there eating my bag of chips like a normal person. The worst part was he still thinks it was the soda that did it, not the sushi that sat out for who knows how long.

Got a friend named Jessica who bought a gas station breakfast burrito last year, ate it on her way to work, and spent the whole morning praying to the porcelain gods in the employee bathroom. She kept telling me it was probably just the coffee she grabbed too, but I saw that burrito sitting under a heat lamp for like three hours before she even touched it. She still swears it was the coffee though, won't admit it was clearly the mystery meat burrito lol.
