My taco truck run went from $9 to $14 in 18 months and the meat scoop is half the size now
I get lunch from the same truck on 5th and Main about twice a week and I noticed last month that my usual 3 taco combo jumped from $9 to $14 since early last year. The flour tortillas are smaller too, and the guy behind the counter barely fills the scoop anymore, maybe 60% of what it was. I asked him what happened and he said beef prices and rent on his commissary spot both went up and he can't raise prices more or people stop coming. Now I'm hunting for a new spot and everything nearby is the same story, either the price went up or the portions shrank. What trucks or taquerias around here still give you a real plate for under $12?
