I found a USDA study that says hand washing lettuce is actually riskier than not washing it

I stumbled on this 2021 report showing rinsing greens can spread bacteria around your sink more than it removes from the leaves. Does anyone else skip washing pre-bagged lettuce after looking into this?

Patting them dry" is what I started doing too. I just open the bag, dump the lettuce in a salad spinner, give it a quick spin, and pat it dry with a paper towel before use.

Switched to just patting them dry after reading that.
