Why does nobody talk about how a $30 cake tester saved my souffles
I always thought those little metal skewers were a waste and just poked my cakes with a toothpick. Dropped $30 on a real tester after a chef in my kitchen kept nagging me about it, and now I catch every underdone center before it hits the pass. Anybody got a cheap trick that works just as well?
Thirty bucks to poke a cake sounds like a scam until you realize how many souffles you were tossing in the trash. Guess that chef earned their nagging rights.
