I finally mastered the art of parallel parking in less than 30 seconds
After 3 years of living in Logan Square, I was still that person who needed 5 tries to squeeze into a spot. Last week I watched a YouTube video from a driving school in the UK that said to line your rear tire up with the front car's bumper instead of your door handle. Tried it on Milwaukee Ave and parked perfectly on the first go. Anyone else have a random driving trick that just clicked one day?

Oh man, that rear tire trick is a game changer, for real. I had a similar moment when I realized you're supposed to use your side mirrors to check the curb, not look out the back window. Once I started watching the reflection of the curb in my passenger side mirror, I stopped scraping my rims on the curb. Your mileage may vary but that little tweak made my whole angle of approach way cleaner. It's wild how one small adjustment can make something that felt impossible just click.
