My fridge died in the middle of a heatwave last Tuesday

Came home from work and the milk was warm. Thermostat said 78 inside the fridge. Lost about $200 worth of food. Had to toss everything including a whole pork shoulder I was gonna smoke on Saturday. Called a repair guy but he couldn't come till Friday. Ended up buying a used one off Facebook Marketplace for $150. Anyone else deal with a sudden appliance fail in this weather?

Did the used one hold up in this heat?

Is it just me or does it feel like appliances know exactly when to die on you? @butler.mark actually, the used one has been running nonstop and keeping things cold somehow. I guess old stuff was built better than whatever died on me. That pork shoulder situation hits hard too, nothing worse than wasted meat and a broken Saturday plan. Kinda makes you wonder if the universe was trying to tell me to just order pizza. Hope your fridge holds up better than mine did.
