My Logan Square landlord raised rent $250 with 30 days notice, is that even legal in IL?
Got the letter taped to my door on Monday saying rent jumps from $1,450 to $1,700 come June 1, and he's only giving us 30 days to figure it out. I looked it up and it seems like Chicago has no cap on how much or how fast they can raise it for places like mine, which feels wild. Has anyone here fought one of these or actually won, or do I just start hunting for a new spot in this market?
