PSA: Found out last month that the Chicago Tool Library on Elston lets you borrow a $400 tile saw for a week for free
Went in on a Saturday morning with my library card and walked out with a tile saw, a wet vac, and a caulk gun. I had a bathroom floor to do and was about to drop $180 on a rental from the big box store down the street. Turns out this place has thousands of tools and you just need to be a member. I'm not joking, it took ten minutes to sign up.
I know it sounds too good, but it's real. If you live in the city and you've got a project coming up, check it out before you spend money. Has anyone used it for bigger stuff like a floor sander? I want to know if the waitlist is bad.
