Winter parking math is impossible until I tried the alley trick
Last February I spent 35 minutes circling Lakeview after a snowstorm, ended up parking 3 blocks away and carrying groceries through drifts. My neighbor finally showed me how he digs out a spot in the alley behind his place, then cones it with a trash can until he leaves for work. The city won't tow if you leave the can in the actual parking space, it counts as a obstruction. I've used that same alley spot 4 times this month without losing it once. Anyone else got a secret for surviving divvy snow bans and permit zones?
