Had a guy in Des Moines ask if I could sweep his chimney without getting on the roof
He wanted to know if I could do it from the ground with a ladder and some kind of long vacuum hose, and when I said that's not really how it works he offered me an extra $20 to "just try it." I ran the rods up from the firebox like normal and he watched the whole time telling me about how his buddy in construction said it was possible. Has anyone else had a customer try to negotiate the method before you even get your brushes out?
Man, that buddy in construction thing gets me every time, it's always some guy who "knows a better way" and never has to actually do the work. Sucks you had to stand there and get told how to do your own job while you were already doing it right. At least the extra 20 offer is kinda funny, like that's the magic number that makes physics change lol.
