Showerthought: I pulled my 1,000th flue brush last Tuesday and it snuck up on me
I keep a little tally in the truck door of every job I finish, and last Tuesday in Council Bluffs I marked number 1,000. It surprised me because when I started sweeping four years ago I figured I'd be lucky to do 200 a year, not closer to 250. Standing on that roof with the brush still spinning, I just stared at the count for a second. The weird part is the jobs that stick with me are not the big houses, it's the 90 year old bungalows with brick so soft my brush eats it. I have a running list of the worst offenders and I add one about every 40 jobs. Do you folks keep any kind of count, or am I the only nerd with a tally in his door panel?
