Found a barn find in Ohio with 47 years of dust but zero rust
Went to look at a suspension part for my '70 Chevelle and this guy pulls back a tarp on a '66 Mustang that's been sitting since 1978. The concrete floor was dry, tires were flat, but the frame rails looked almost new. He said he used old blankets and a plastic sheet, but the real trick was he put a dehumidifier in the corner for the last decade. I never thought about humidity control in a barn, I always figured ventilation was enough. Has anyone else found a survivor that was saved more by the floor than the cover?

Dehumidifier in a barn for a decade is wild. Most guys would just toss a tarp over it and call it done, but dude went full climate control. Kind of makes sense though, since temp swings pull moisture right out of the air and onto bare metal. Downside is running one of those for ten years is not cheap, so he must have really cared about that car. I bet that dry concrete floor did more work than the blanket ever did.
