Pulled my dad's 68 Mustang out of storage and found 11 mouse nests in the exhaust
So my dad parked his 68 Mustang in my uncle's barn outside Fresno back in 2011 and we finally went to get it last weekend. I opened the trunk and it was like a horror movie, mice had chewed through the burlap sacks I wrapped the spare in and made a whole city back there. But the part that got me was the exhaust, I shined a light in the tailpipe and counted 11 separate nests packed in there like insulation. I always thought if I just threw a tarp over it and put some dryer sheets inside that was good enough, but nobody ever talks about the pipes. Now I'm worried about the motor too because if they got that far who knows what's in the intake. Anyone dealt with nests in the exhaust specifically, like is there a way to flush it out without pulling the whole system? Also what do you all stuff in the pipes when a car sits for years, steel wool or something else?
