Hot take: My coworker's confusion over my bike helmet solar light...
I installed a tiny solar panel on my helmet for night rides. He saw it glowing and genuinely asked if it was a new fashion statement for saving the planet... Ever have someone totally miss the point of your green gear?

Ever just tell them it's a safety feature first? I always lead with that, like saying the light helps cars see me at night. The solar part is just a bonus that saves batteries. When my neighbor asked about my jacket's reflectors, I said they glow in car headlights to prevent accidents. He stopped laughing and actually asked where I bought them. Plain facts work better than trying to explain your whole green plan.

Yeah, the "plain facts work better" thing is so true. I see it all the time with clients who get stuck on the complicated science behind a simple workout. Just tell people what it does for them right now, not the whole backstory.

Oh man, I used to launch into this whole speech about my solar backpack until I saw their eyes glaze over. Now I just point to the little blinking light and say it keeps me from getting run over. Turns out "won't die" is way more interesting than my lecture on battery tech.
