Solar farm near Moab got me questioning if big projects are worth it
I drove past that new 200 acre solar array outside Moab last weekend and it's impressive, but the land clearing and concrete pads sort of hurt to see. On one hand we need scale fast, on the other I wonder if rooftop panels on every warehouse in Salt Lake would do more with less disruption. Anyone else feel torn between huge solar pushes and smaller distributed setups?

The land clearing and concrete pads got to me too when I saw the photos online. I read a study last year that said rooftop and parking lot setups in cities like Salt Lake could cover most of the state's daytime needs without touching any wild ground. Big arrays are fine for speed, but we keep skipping the boring spots that already got paved over.
