Ran a part off a paper drawing a guy saved from 1987 and my numbers came out dead on
Buddy at the shop in Dayton brought in a hand drawn print his old boss gave him in 1987, yellowed tape and all. I usually just punch numbers off the screen, so I figured no way this matched what the engineer wanted. Tool 6 on my lathe ended up dialing in at .002 over, which was closer than the last three CAD revisions gave me. Old guys wrote every dimension out by hand and it just worked. Anybody else keep a paper print around the bench for the tricky jobs?
