That $80 digital edge finder I bought on a whim actually paid for itself
Picked up one of those cheap digital edge finders off Amazon last month after I kept fighting with my old wiggle style one on a tight tolerance job in Phoenix. Cost me $80 and I figured it'd be junk in a week, but honestly the display is dead on and I've already used it on like 12 setups. The battery door feels flimsy though, so I wrapped it in electrical tape just in case. Has anyone else gone digital with their edge finding and never looked back, or am I just getting old and lazy with my tooling?

My buddy Bill out in Tucson bought one of those same cheap digital edge finders for a one-off job, and it saved him from scrapping a $2,000 piece of billet when his old wiggle model lied to him by nearly a whole sixteenth. He still swears it was the best $80 he's ever spent on tooling, even though the battery died right when he needed it most.
