Was swapping out a worn leadscrew nut on my Bridgeport and the Heidenhain display just went dark. Hit up a younger guy in the shop about a replacement and he asked why I even bother with a DRO when I could run a tablet with some app. Made me think about how I learned to read dials and work to tenths by feel, and now kids just zoom in on a screen. Anyone else sticking with their old gear until it dies, or am I just a stubborn dinosaur in a digital shop?
