Update: I paid $120 for a 6 week bootcamp on Udemy and learned less than from a free site
So back in March I signed up for this online bootcamp that promised to take me from zero to job ready in 6 weeks. It cost $120 which felt like a steal compared to the $3000 ones, and the ad had all these quotes from people who got hired. Six weeks in, the whole thing was just a guy reading off slides for 90 minutes a day and telling us to "just build things" without ever showing how. I finished it and still could not write a basic function without copying from Stack Overflow. Meanwhile I found a free site with actual practice problems and learned more in two weeks than in the entire course. If you are thinking about paying for one of these, at least ask if they have real projects you build yourself, because mine sure did not. Has anyone found a paid beginner course that was actually worth the money?
