The barista who talked me out of pour-over snobbery
I used to think pour-over was the only real way to make coffee, but this guy at a shop in Cleveland changed my mind over a 10 minute chat. He pulled a shot of their house espresso and said, "taste this before you judge it," and it was sweet like caramel with zero bitterness. He explained how the grinder and pressure matter more than the method for that particular bean, and it clicked for me. Now I actually enjoy dialing in my cheap espresso machine instead of feeling guilty about it. Has anyone else had a coffee pro flip your opinion with a single sip?
