Vent: That morning my pour over took 9 minutes to drain

I got a new bag of beans from a local roaster in Austin and dialed it in perfect yesterday, but this morning the same grind clogged the filter and took forever to drip through. Turns out I forgot to rinse the paper filter first and it was sticking to the dripper walls. Has anyone else had a simple mistake ruin a brew that was working great before?

Man, that reminds me of my buddy Dave up in Portland. He spent a whole weekend dialing in this Ethiopian natural process from a tiny roaster near his place. Got it perfect, like 3 minutes 20 seconds, tasted like blueberries and chocolate. Next morning he used the exact same grind setting and it just stalled. He stood there watching it for like 12 minutes before giving up and dumping it. He texted me a photo of the filter all swollen and stuck to the side of the V60. Turns out he forgot to wet the filter too, just like you. He said it felt like the coffee gods were messing with him after all that careful work. The little things can really throw everything off when you think you have it locked in.

Oh man, I feel his pain - nothing worse than watching a perfect cup fall apart over something that small.
