Pro tip: I switched from a big laptop to a tablet for cafe work and it's a game changer

Used to haul a 15-inch laptop everywhere, but after a month with a 12-inch tablet and keyboard, my bag is 5 pounds lighter and I can work anywhere, even on a tiny bar stool. Anyone else made a switch like this and found a spot it really saved you?

Tried that and lasted about a week. My thumbs got tired of typing on a glass screen and I kept trying to right-click on everything. Went back to the clunky laptop, but my shoulder definitely misses the lighter bag.

Know exactly what you mean about the right-click thing, @terry_thomas, that muscle memory is hard to break. Did you try using a small Bluetooth keyboard with the tablet, or was it strictly a thumbs-on-glass experiment? I'm curious because that shoulder pain from a heavy bag is no joke, but so is fighting with a device that doesn't work how your brain is wired. Seems like we're stuck choosing between a sore brain or a sore body sometimes.

A friend of mine actually had the same issue as @noahclark mentioned with the Bluetooth keyboard setup. I used to think tablets were just for watching videos and scrolling social media, but watching her work with that little keyboard changed my mind. She used a Logitech Keys-to-Go with her iPad and it made typing way easier than the glass screen, plus she could still right-click using the trackpad on it. It's definitely a middle ground worth trying if your shoulder is really hurting from the laptop bag.
