Sat in the same corner spot at the Dallas cafe for 2 weeks before I noticed my back was killing me
Tbh I thought I was being smart by always grabbing the same table by the window at this place on Elm Street. After two weeks of working there 4 days a week my lower back was wrecked and I could not figure out why. Turns out the chair at that spot was shorter than the rest and the table was higher, so I was hunched over 6 hours a day without even noticing. A barista named Marcus finally asked if I wanted the other table and I switched, and the back pain was gone in 3 days. Anyone else get stuck in one seat out of habit and not realize the furniture is fighting you?
That chair at the Elm Street spot sounds like a trap. I did the same thing at a Panera on Mockingbird for about a month, always took the booth by the outlet because of the plug. My neck started aching every single day and I blamed my pillow at home. Then one day the booth was taken so I sat at a regular table and felt fine by that evening. Went back and checked and that booth seat was sunk in about two inches lower than the rest. Two inches, that was it. Marcus did you a solid by speaking up.
